2. The short version

The Pulse app analyzes your audio on your device and never sends it anywhere. Your audio never leaves your machine.

This website uses no tracking, no analytics and no marketing cookies, and your browser loads nothing from third parties. The app only talks to the network for updates and, if you use it, the Mode Store.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, which processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

When you open a page, your browser sends technically necessary data that our server briefly records:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • requested page or file and the page you came from
  • browser and operating system

Purpose: delivering the website, security and stability. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

4. Contact form

When you write to us through the form, we process your name, email address, topic and message to answer your request. The message is delivered by email to info@dendree.de through our mail server at Hetzner.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR for questions about our products, otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data once your request is resolved, unless legal retention periods apply.

5. Downloads

The download buttons lead to the release files on GitHub (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you download Pulse, GitHub processes your IP address. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Privacy policy: https://docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement

6. App updates

The desktop app checks for new versions when it starts and every six hours while it runs. For this it loads a small version file from GitHub, which sees your IP address in the process. No audio and no personal data is sent.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, our interest in keeping the app secure and up to date. You can switch the automatic check off under Settings → About.

7. Dendree account and sign-in

You only need an account for the Mode Store. Pulse uses your Dendree account: you sign in on https://auth.dendree.de in your browser, and the app receives a sign-in of its own for the same account. Your password never reaches the app.

We process your email address, your account ID and the time of your sign-ins. The sign-in pages use Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) to keep out bots; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. Your account and the data linked to it are kept until you ask us to delete it.

8. Mode Store

The app loads the store catalog and, for modes you install, a download link from our store service. When you redeem a code, we store which products belong to your account:

  • your account ID and the products you own
  • which code you redeemed and when (we only store a fingerprint of the code, not the code itself)
  • failed redemption attempts with their time, to stop codes being guessed

The store runs on Supabase (Supabase, Inc., 970 Toa Payoh North #07-04, Singapore 318992) with data stored in the EU (Ireland), under a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses (Art. 28, 46 GDPR).

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR, to deliver what you unlocked, and Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR for the protection against guessing codes. The data is kept until your account is deleted.

This website shows the same catalog. It loads it on our server, so your browser does not connect to Supabase.

9. Data on your device

The app keeps its settings, playlists, installed modes and your sign-in on your computer. Installed modes live in the app data folder so they survive updates.

On this website we store two small flags in your browser: whether you have already seen the loading screen (session storage, gone when you close the tab) and whether you switched the music off (local storage). None of this is sent to us.

10. Background music and fonts

The background music (“Embrace” by Evgeny Bardyuzha, Pixabay Content License) and all fonts are served from our own server. You can switch the music off at any time with the button in the bottom left corner.

11. Disclosure of data

We only pass on personal data if:

  • you have expressly consented (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR),
  • it is necessary to perform a contract with you (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR),
  • there is a legal obligation (Art. 6 (1)(c) GDPR),
  • or it is necessary to safeguard legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).

We do not sell personal data.

12. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

If you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, write to info@dendree.de.

13. Right to lodge a complaint

You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg: https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de

14. Changes to this policy

This policy is valid as of October 2026. We adapt it when our technology, the law or our offering changes.
